International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking : JUNE 26

The International Day Against Drug Abuse was jointly observed by AhalIa YAAD (Youth Against Alcohol and Drugs) and the Excise Department at the AWACH Auditorium.

The district-level inauguration of the anti-drug awareness campaign was carried out by Honourable Malampuzha MLA Mr. Prabhakaran. The welcome address was delivered by the Honourable Deputy Commissioner of Excise, and the Academic Executive Director of Ahalya, Dr. Krishnakumar Kishore, delivered the presidential address. Mrs. Revathy Babu, President of Elappully Grama Panchayat, and Fr. Albert Anand Raj extended their felicitations.

The event witnessed participation from over 750 school students. Performances such as a flash mob and tableau against drug abuse, organized by Ahalya students in collaboration with the Excise Department, drew much attention and appreciation.

A drug-free pledge was administered under the leadership of District Anti-Drug Coordinator Ms. Drishya K. S. Around 30 excise police officers, along with school teachers and students, took part in the program, marking a strong collective stance against substance abuse.
