International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficiking 2025
Ahalia School of Paramedical Sciences, in collaboration with Ahalia Youth Against Alcohol and Drugs (YAAD) and the Excise Department, organized a powerful anti-drug awareness rally in Palakkad. The rally commenced from the Palakkad Fort and concluded at the Anjuvilakku Junction, drawing significant public attention and participation.
The event was formally flagged off and inaugurated by by the esteemed Deputy Excise Commissioner, Mr. Prince Babu. Mr. Satheesh Kumar, Assistant Excise Commissioner, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the urgency and importance of collective action against substance abuse. Dr. Sreejith M. Nair, Coordinator of Ahalia YAAD, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and dignitaries.
A major highlight of the event was a captivating flash mob and thematic tableau performed by students of the BSc MLT programme at Ahalia School of Paramedical Sciences. Their performance effectively conveyed strong messages against drug and alcohol abuse, leaving a lasting impression on the public.
Notable attendees included Fr. Albert, De-addiction Programme Coordinator; Excise Sub-Inspector Mr. Suresh Babu; other officers from the Excise Department; faculty members; and students of Ahalia School of Paramedical Sciences. The coordinated efforts of the organizers and participants made the rally a remarkable success, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to fostering a drug-free society.
